Summer time with the grandchildren

I would like to share with you the story of how I came to practice Chinese Medicine.

All my adult life I endured an assortment of symptoms including numbness, pain and fatigue. It wasn’t until I was in my 40’s that I was diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis). With my diagnosis I began the traditional treatments of daily injections, and various medications for the various symptoms. Rather than improving, I quickly deteriorated. I was forced to leave my job, and started shopping for electric scooters. A chance encounter with Qi Gong (Chinese movement exercise) gave me immediate relief. I was astounded to say the least. That day I scooped all my meds into a grocery bag and disposed of them. I went to see my acupuncturist (who I had seen for back pain, and various other ailments). I told her I would like to see what regularly scheduled acupuncture and Chinese herbs could do. A year later I was in school, relatively healthy and planning a whole new life. Fast forward six years, two schools and many hours of study! I now have my own practice and hope to be able to help others find their way to their version of a “new life”.

I am a nationally board certified and licensed Acupuncturist and Eastern Medicine Practitioner. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Health Sciences; and Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA.

My training at Bastyr University has given me a well rounded education and rigorous hands-on training in acupuncture and complimentary modalities, Chinese herbal medicine and Western medical sciences. I have extensive experience working with patients in the areas of women’s health, fertility, oncology, pain management, psycho-emotional health, as well as many others. In addition I have training as an EMT and was a 911 dispatcher. This training gave me a solid background in Western medicine.

I am a lifelong Whatcom County resident and spent the majority of my adult years working for City and County agencies; the Whatcom County Library System and Bellingham Fire Department. I raised my three daughters here, have strong friend and family ties in the area. If you are looking for an acupuncturist in Bellingham book an appointment and see what I can do for you.

I look forward to helping you reach your goal of health and wellness.
